The Journey Begins....

Today is the first day of my PhD in Instructional Systems and Learning Technology at Florida State University (Go Noles!?). This has been a long time coming in my journey as an educator. So here's the backstory.....
I am from Belize City, Belize and studied Information Technology at the University of Belize. In my last year of my bachelors degree my friend and I started wondering why we didn't major in IT education. We looked into and decided we were way too far down our path (4 years in) to go in that direction. So, we graduated and both ended up teaching at the junior college level. Sicne then I got a masters degree in computer information systems from Florida Institute of Technology. Worked as full stack web developer and been an university instructor (Go Rattlers!)
During my time at Florida A&M Universirty, I learnt a lot, and had the opportunity to engage in research. Because of these experiences, I decided that I needed to learn more about designing courses, understanding how we learn, and how to conduct research. So....I went off and got a masters degree in educational psychology: learning and cognition. I also did a graduate certificate in instructional design. Basically, I can't stop going to school.
I am not sure where this is experience will go, but I am ready to get started. I am nervous and unsure about research/dissertation process. This is hopefully the first step toward a future that I have longing for and will love.
